Mt. View shuts out Carbondale

Mountain View shut down Carbondale 12-0, with James Goodenough leading the Eagles with six goals and three assists.

Ed Bognatz added three goals and an assist for the Eagles; Alex McDonald and Zeke Cross each scored one point and had one assist.

Nick Pellew added a point for Mountain View and Jeff Verbitsky had one assist. Jesse Gerfin had five saves for the Eagles.

Zack Dieck scored two goals and Troy Ely had a goal and an assist to lead Montrose to a 5-3 win over Dunmore.

Dieck put the first points on the board with an assist from Ely at 14:03. Dieck followed up with another goal two minutes later.

Todd Lattimore posted a goal at 26:44 for the Meteors, assisted by Joe Rodino; Ely then scored at 27:51 on an assist by Giovanni Amato.

Kyle Watkins put up the final point for Montrose at 30:54.

Brendan Buck had nine saves for Montrose in the goal.

The Meteors fell to Lakeland 2-0 in a showdown of Lackawanna Soccer League Division III boys unbeatens Friday.

Corbin French scored two goals for the winners.

On an assist from Austin Cordoza at 10:00, Cheeseboro put up the first Raider point of the game. French added to the tally at 23:00 with an assist from John Bluett.

Bluett scored at 34:00; and French scored at 52:00, with Cheeseboro getting the assist.

Cheeseboro capped off the Blue Ridge scoring with a point at 63:00.

Shawn Woodruff had five saves for the Raiders.

An overtime goal gave Lakeland the 2-1 win over Elk Lake in a Lackawanna League Division III game.

Bailey Newhart had the goal for Elk Lake at 57:41. Zack Groover posted 10 saves for the Warriors.

Dave Pollak and Ian Bailey had goals for Forest City in the 3-2 loss to Holy Cross.

Pollak scored at 41:00; and Bailey added a point at 53:11. Dakota Khern-Cook had 7 saves for the Foresters.

In game action on Monday, Forest City dropped its Division III match to Lakeland 2-1 in overtime.
Jared Paulin scored for Forest City with an assist from Tyler Trichilo; and Dakota Khern-Cook posted eight saves.
