Warriors improve season records

In a Lackawanna League cross country meet Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Montrose, Dunmore runner set a course record with a winning time of 16:41.

Elk Lake had the next six runners come across the finish line, enabling the Warriors to win four times and improve their record to 11-1.

Montrose won three wins, Dunmore twice and Blue Ridge once.

At Mountain View, Lakeland’s Nathan Morgan won in 16:19 to set a course record and lead the Chiefs (12-2) to five wins. Wallenpaupack had four wins, Delaware Valley won three times, Lackawanna Trail won twice and Mountain View won once.

Lady Warrior Kenzie Jones set a Montrose course record by winning in 19:24 to lead Elk Lake to three wins. Katie Bennett finished second in 19:36 and Justine Johns was third in 20:00 for the unbeaten Lady Warriors (10-0).

Emma Washo of Montrose set a school record by placing fourth in 20:10. The Lady Meteors had two wins and Riverside won once.

Wallenpaupack (10-2) posted five wins at Mountain View behind the effort of Alyssa LaFave, who won in a course-record 19:16.

Vanessa Paolella was second in 19:22 for Delaware Valley, which won four times. Susquehanna had three wins and Lackawanna Trail had two.
