Bedell sets course record; EL girls remain unbeaten

Hunter Bedell set a course record in 17:36 and Elk Lake finished in the top three spots to earn two wins in a Lackawanna League meet Tuesday at Blue Ridge.

Travis Hickling set a school record for Blue Ridge in 18:45.

In the girls’ race, Elk Lake placed four runners in the top five to sweep two wins and stay unbeaten in a Lackawanna League girls meet Tuesday at Blue Ridge.

Katie Bennet and Kenzie Jones took the two top spots, while Keri Jones and Justine Johns placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

Montrose’s Emma Washo was sixth.

Casey Purdum set a school record for Blue Ridge in 21:47.

At Susquehanna, Mikayla Hargett was third for the Sabers, setting a school record in the process. Her time of 21:58 topped her previous mark of 22:33 set in 2012. Her effort helped the Lady Sabers win twice.
The Susquehanna boys earned a split at the meet while Mountain View collected two wins.
