Blue Ridge and Susquehanna have all clinched berths in the District 2 Class A tournament.
Forest City (5-12) will likely be playing a “Challenge Match” against MMI Prep, which plays as the only Class A team in the Wyoming Valley Conference.
That is unless MMI Prep finishes with a higher winning percentage than Forest City.
On Monday, Oct. 20, Katherine Kempa had 22 assists and eight service points to lead Blue Ridge to a 3-0 win over Elk Lake in a Lackawanna League girls volleyball match on Monday.
Kristine Carlsen added 13 points, which included seven aces, and had 12 digs and eight kills, while Chloe Randall had nine service points for the winners.
Mikaela Parrett and Montana Cole led Elk Lake with three kills each.
At Susquehanna, Nicole Shay had 25 service points, while Ana Smith had eight kills, Brianna Burligame had 12 service points and Nicole Barnes contributed 19 assists and 10 digs.
Megan Dunn led Montrose with six kills and three aces and had nine assists.
At Mountain View, Zoe Zazzera had 15 points and 15 digs to lead Forest City.
Courtney Daniels added nine points, Caitlyn Bonham had 21 assists and Emily Statkun had six blocks and 23 digs for the winners.
Sabrina Fallon had four digs, and Jordan Bomersheim had nine points.
In other volleyball action last week, Dunmore clinched the Lackawanna League girls volleyball title with a 3-0 victory over Forest City.
Zoe Zazzera led Forest City with 20 digs, Emily Statkun had 17 digs and Courtney Daniels had 15 digs.
The Lady Foresters also fell to Abinghton Heights, 3-0. Zoe Zazzera had 20 digs, six kills and six sets to lead Forest City.
At Montrose, Lacy Nealy had eight aces and 10 assists to lead the Lady Meteors in a 3-0 win over Mountain View.
Sabrina Fallon had 11 digs for Mountain View, Jordan Bomershein had seven assists and nine digs, and Courtney Bognatz and Lauren Schmidt each had five digs.
