The Susquehanna senior quarterback ran for 208 yards and three touchdowns and also threw for 100 yards in the Sabers’ 34-19 victory over Lackawanna Trail on Saturday.

Age: 17.

Family members: mom Katrina; dad Lawrence; brother Tyler; sister Olivia.

Other sport you play: Basketball.

Favorite sports teams: Jacksonville Jaguars and South Carolina Gamecocks football.

How did you become a Jacksonvile Jaguars fan? My dad is a Dolphins fan for the longest time and I hated the Dolphins. I wanted to stay in the state of Florida and I really liked the Jaguars’ uniforms and Mark Brunell was my favorite quarterback.

Do you admire any athlete? Definitely Tim Tebow. He did so great in college and nobody thought he could play quarterback but he went on to the NFL and won games, including a playoff game. A lot of people didn’t think I could play quarterback when I got to high school but I stuck with it.

Three people you’d like to have dinner with: Cam Newton, Steve Spurrier and Tavon Austin.

Do you have any superstitions? Not really. Every homecoming game I put a sticker on the back of my helmet for one of my friends who passed away a couple years ago. We’ve won those games that I put it on there.

Favorite food: Fettuccine alfredo.

So let’s hear about the game Saturday: The offensive line was really pushing them around up front. We felt like we were bigger than them and we felt like we could move them around up front. They took some stuff away from us. The pitch and handoff weren’t there but I was able to get open to run and it was just great blocking by everyone on our team and it made my job a lot easier.

How big of a win was that for you guys? It’s huge because nobody has really paid much attention to us all year. We felt like we could compete with Old Forge and Lackawanna Trail. We knew this week was huge.
We’re probably going to end up seeing them again in the playoffs but it just gives us a lot of momentum heading into the end of the season.

How much are you looking forward to the possibility of winning a championship? We made district playoffs last year and coming into this year, nobody really gave us any credit. We knew that it wasn’t going to be easy. Early in the season, we had a rough time but now we’re coming together and we really feel like we can win the district title. We feel like we can win a division title and just for the communities of Blue Ridge and Susquehanna, it would be huge so we’re excited. In its 65th season,
A radio interview with White aired Monday on “In the Zone” with Joby Fawcett on NEPA’s ESPN Radio 630 and 1240 AM and 96.1 and 100.1 FM.
