Philly fugitive arrested in New Milford

A man wanted out of Philadelphia on a homicide charge was apprehended Wednesday (Nov. 19) in New Milford Twp. following an incident at a truck stop, located off I-81.

Police were called to the Flying J because a man was threatening workers and customers with scissors.

The man was identified as Omar Lawrence, 30, of Philadelphia. According to police, he resisted arrest but was safely taken into custody.

Lawrence was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, resisting arrest, theft, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey Hollister. Bail was set at $750,000.
Lawrence waived his Monday, Nov. 24 preliminary hearing in New Milford District Court.

Extradition to Philadelphia is pending.
