
The Community Chorale performance on Sunday, Dec. 7 caps off the Christmas in Montrose weekend. The performance is at 3 p.m., in the auditorium of the Montrose Area High School.
Christmas in Montrose rolls to a start Friday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. with the annual Chocolate Santa Roll.
Participants will gather at Chocolates by Leopold on Church Street and help roll the three-foot chocolate Santa mold up and down Public Avenue.
The Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at 5:45 p.m. The tree is located on the corner of Public Ave. and Church St.
The merriment continues Friday evening with Christmas caroling and chocolate fountain s’mores, 6 p.m., at the JHA garage (located in the Tannery Lot – the municipal south parking lot).
On Saturday, Dec. 6, festivities begin with the Jingle Bell 3k Fun Run/Walk, starting at 9 a.m. on the steps of the Susquehanna County Courthouse. The entry fee for the fun run is an unwrapped toy.
Cupcake decorating will take place at Seneca Bridal & Dress Boutique, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; and the chocolate Santa will be decorated, starting at 10 a.m., at Chocolates by Leopold.
The Montrose Theatre will present the movie “Elf” at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Santa arrives in time for pictures at 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. on the Green. Sleigh rides will also be available at that time.
Two Holiday Zumba classes will be offered at the former Bridgewater Baptist Church on Church St. Classes will be held at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will have cookies at Endless Mountains Health Systems at 1:30 p.m. Special guests will arrive at 2 p.m.
The Montrose Area Adult School’s Festival of Christmas Trees takes place, 4-6 p.m., at the Rosemont Inn, Lake Ave.
On Sunday, Dec. 7, the Montrose Community Chorale concert takes place at 3 p.m. at the Montrose Area High School. Refreshments will be served following the performance.
The chorale is under the direction of Thomas Welch and accompanied by Kristen Burkhardt. Special guests this year are the Mountain Aire Brass. The concert finale will be the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ with brass accompaniment. A freewill offering will be taken.
From 1-4 p.m., lunch with Santa will be served at Mazar’s Restaurant, Maple St. Pictures with Santa available. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity.
Don’t forget the local church bazaars also happening this weekend.
*Montrose Bible Conference hosts its Christmas Craft Fair, Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Also, Around the World Nativities will be on display.
*Christmas Department Store, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Montrose United Methodist Church.
*The Country Store, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
*Annual Christmas Bazaar, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.

All proceeds from the Christmas in Montrose events will be donated to the Susquehanna County Interfaith and local food banks.
