More repairs to the county courthouse are in the works.
The commissioners opened bids at the May 27 meeting for the repair of the Ionic columns on the Greek-Revival style building.
Six bids were received, ranging from about $81,000 to $183,000. The bids will be sent on to the county engineers and architect for review.
Commissioner Alan Hall said the capitols on the columns were rotting. He said one column would be pulled in order for casts to be made of the column top. Then, all of the capitols would be replaced and the columns painted.
The Courthouse Complex was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
The following people were named to the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Advisory Committee for a one-year term beginning July 1.
Economic Development: Robert Neira, William Dovin, Bobbi Jo Turner.
Local Loan Review: Joe Ferretti, Rick Sodon, Keith Yurgosky.
Rural Transportation: Rudy Mattes, Leonard Wheatley, Alan Hall.
Member-at-Large: Jody Place.
The three county commissioners are also a part of the NTPDC advisory committee.
David Fredendall transferred from a position in the assessment office to the maintenance department.
Nancy Stoddard of Nicholson was hired as a corrections officer at the county jail, effective May 26; and the resignation of a corrections officer on May 20 was accepted.
Several Children & Youth agreements for services were approved.
