Elk Lake swimmers notched a number of top 10 finishes Saturday at the District II Class AA championships and brought home some hardware for their efforts.
Mike Pettit placed 5th in the 200yard freestyle event, and 7th in the 500 yard freestyle.
Zach Mead also garnered a 5th place finish in the 200 yard IM; and took 8th in the 100-yard butterfly.
Austin Dolaway finished 9th in the 50 yard freestyle and 10th in the 100 yard freestyle; Nathan Grosvenor also placed 10th in the 200 yard IM.
The boys’ 200 freestyle relay team finished in 5th place. The relay team is comprised of Pettit, Mead and Dolaway, and Chase Orlandini.
The boys’ 400 freestyle relay team placed 6th, with Mead, Pettit, and Justin and Nathan Grosvenor.
In the 200 medley relay, the Elk Lake team of Cole Orlandini, Nathan and Justin Grosvenor and Chase Orlandini – placed 8th.
Overall, the Elk Lake boys’ team finished in 7th place.
The Elk Lake girls’ 200 freestyle team placed 8th with Louise Thompson, Becca Sisson, Kira Karpov and Audra Everitt.
The 400 freestyle relay took home a 7th place finish with Thompson, Sisson, Everitt and Lydia Ofalt.
The 200 medley girls’ relay finished in 9th with Cami Perry, Lydia Ofalt, Becca Sisson and Audra Everitt swimming for the Lady Warriors.
Lydia Ofalt placed 10th in the 100 yard breast stroke.
