Charges filed in police pursuit

A Clarks Summit man faces charges in Wyoming County after leading police on a high speed chase on Route 11 through Wyoming and Lackawanna counties.
Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Gibson station located the suspect’s vehicle in Nicholson Twp. on April 10.

Charges filed against Cuinn Foley, 18, in Wyoming County are in addition to counts previously filed in Lackawanna County.

The pursuit of Foley began in South Abington Twp. and the vehicle was later sported in Nicholson Twp. when Foley fled for a second time with a passenger.

According to police, the 18-year-old passenger told Foley to stop the car and let him out but the driver refused.

During the pursuit, Foley struck the state police vehicle twice.

The passenger jumped out of the vehicle when he had a chance to safely do so and was taken into custody by police. No charges were filed on the passenger.

Foley later turned himself in to South Abington Police.

Charges against Foley were filed at in the office of Magisterial District Judge David Plummer in Tunkhannock on April 19.

Foley was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude police, recklessly endangering another person, unlawful restraints, resisting arrest and reckless driving.
