If you think the local farmers’ market Montrose Market is too hard to find, you will be happy to hear that on Thursday, June 30, the market is moving to the Green.

The Montrose Market is open Thursdays, 3-7 p.m.

Organizers found the parking lot behind the Tannery Building is too hot for the fresh vegetables and plants; and the car traffic could possibly be dangerous to market-goers, especially children.

The move is likely to be good for vendors and shoppers alike.

The flowers from Scholz’s Orchard in Mehoopany are lush and healthy, and the vendor is happy to advise you on what plants are best for your garden. Maybe you are looking for a unique handcrafted gift. You can shop while Endless Mountain Learning Center entertains your children with a new activity every week. Last week they had homemade sidewalk paint.

After shopping at the market you might want to extend your stay in town. The Montrose Movie Theatre runs shows at 7 p.m.; and Outback@Joycie’s offers Thursday Night Live with music and BBQ at 5:30 p.m. Take a short drive down South Main Street to relax on benches or under the pavilion while the children play at Memorial Park, offering climbing gyms and swings, a basketball court, walking trail, and skateboard ramps, plus the convenience of bathrooms, electric, and water.
