The board approved payment for a wireless Internet service installation, which was completed over the summer, to Frontier Communications. The work was billed in the amount of about $11,186. “This cost was based on E-rate funding, so I recommend the board approve to pay our 20 percent, as E-Rate reimbursement is 80 percent, Superintendent Ken Cuomo said. “This is a great accomplishment for the cost.”
At the same time, the phone system was updated by Norvada Contrast Communications, for a total of $5,000, and a payment for $780 was approved by the board.
A payment to Broome Bituminous Paving was approved for $34,790, for the milling and paving project in the high school parking lot, and for the installation of a trench, and was planned in the budget.
“The bill came in right at the bid amount,” Cuomo noted.

The three essay contest winners gave back their cash prizes to the veterans, which was unprecedented, they said. Weisgold said that the veterans said that they were humbled and thankful for this unexpected act.
