COL. MARTIN KANE

Colonel Martin J. Kane recently retired following 37 years of combined service in the U.S. Marine Corps and Army National Guard.

His final assignment was serving as the Deputy Commander of the 55th Armor Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division.

Kane is a 1976 graduate of Montrose High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps following graduation. He joined the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in 1985 and has served as an Infantry Officer in a variety of positions including assignment as an Infantry Battalion Operations Officer during deployment to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Infantry Battalion Executive Officer during deployment to Iraq. 

Kane’s awards include the Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star Medal.

He possesses a Master’s Degree from Temple University and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College.

Kane resides near Montrose. His daughter, Jessica, is a U.S. Coast Guard Officer; and son, James, is an Army Ordnance Officer.
