On Sept. 24, the fourth annual Big Tone Golf Classic was held at Tall Pines Players Club in Friendsville.
The tournament, held in honor of Tony Bistocchi, 2009 MASD graduate and son of Lisa and Ferdie Bistocchi. Tony was a hilarious, caring young man from Montrose whose life was cut short by an automobile accident in May of 2012.
Past tournaments have funded the MASD Tony Bistocchi Scholarship. This year’s tournament, through charitable contributions, donated $4,000 to a local community resource, The WRC in Montrose.
A thank you goes out to all of the participants: 116 golfers, 18 hole sponsors, numerous volunteers, plus countless raffle contributors who made this day possible. The 2017 Big Tone Golf Classic will be held in September of 2017.
