Planning to hold special meeting on XNG facility

The Susquehanna County Planning Commission discussed the status of the XNG Natural Gas facility in Forest Lake at its Tuesday, May 30 meeting.
XNG has not yet submitted a sound study report that is in compliance with the compressor station sound requirements in the county subdivision and land development ordinance.
The week prior, the county commissioners said they expected the planning commission to recommend the county pursue the matter more officially.
But at the planning commission meeting, an XNG representative provided the commission with an action plan to remedy both the sound study report and the planting of trees as screening – both required for final approval of the facility.
The planning commission extended the deadline for XNG to July 21 for compliance.
Since the Tuesday meeting, the county reportedly received additional information about the site. The Susquehanna County Planning Commission will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, at the County Office Building in the downstairs conference room, to discuss and consider action on the XNG Natural Gas industrial development.
