Man killed in head-on crash

A Hallstead man was killed Friday, July 14, in a head-on collision on Route 11 in Harford Twp.
David Calla, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene by Susquehanna County Coroner Anthony Conarton.
Calla was traveling south in a 2013 Chrysler 200; and Michael Mortimer, 21, of Tunkhannock, was northbound, traveling in a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee at the time of the collision, just north of the intersection of Route 11 and 106.
Mortimer sustained moderate injuries in the crash. He was transported to Wilson Hospital, Johnson City, N.Y., for treatment.
The crash is still under investigation by Sgt. Michael Joyce, Pennsylvania State Police, Gibson.
