Mt. View sweeps Sabers

Luke Schmidt led the way for Mountain View in its 3-0 win over Susquehanna. The senior had 11 assists and four blocks as the Eagles swept the Sabers 25-10, 25-16, and 30-28.

Cameron Hollister chipped in with 9 kills for Mountain View. Bryce Baldwin paced Susquehanna with 9 kills and digs, 5 blocks and 14 service points, while Jarrett Dininny had 10 points, including 5 aces, to go along with 6 kills and digs.

At Elk Lake, Abington Heights remained undefeated with a 3-0 sweep of the Warriors. The Comets took the sets 25-19, 25-18, and 25-12. Zack Werle led Elk Lake with 7 digs.

Thursday night found Blue Ridge traveling to Abington Heights for a match between two of the highly regarded teams in the Lackawanna League. The Comets looking to avenge two losses to the Raiders last season came out strong and swept the match in three highly contested sets 25-22, 25-21, and 26-24.

Garrett Mansfield led the way for Blue Ridge with 10 kills and 2 blocks. Cameron Franks added 5 kills and Charlie Randall had 16 assists.

Susquehanna bounced back from their Eagles’ defeat with a 3-0 win over Elk Lake.

The Sabers took the match winning the sets by the scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-11. Baldwin again paced Susquehanna with 24 service points including 8 aces, and added 15 kills. Dininny added 5 kills and digs and 7 points, and Carson Beamer chipped in with 10 assists. Ben Hoal had 5 kills and 3 digs for Elk Lake and Matt Schwartztrauber had 3 digs.
