A 53 year old Susquehanna man faces multiple charges after he allegedly threatened to release nude photos of videos of a female victim police were notified.

Bruce Norman Witbeck voluntarily turned himself in Monday to New Milford District Court, where he was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Jodi Cordner and released on $15,000 unsecured bail.

He was charged with intimidation of witness or victims; failure to comply with registration of sexual offender requirements; interception, disclosure or use of wire, electronic or oral communication; sexual abuse of children; unlawful dissemination of an intimate image; and invasion of privacy.

According to a release issued by Pennsylvania State Trooper Nicholas DeSantis on Monday, PSP investigators were notified Feb. 15 by the Susquehanna County District Attorney’s office of a possible sexual assault when a victim filed a Protection from Abuse (PFA) against Witbeck.

The victim told police she had been sexually active with Witbeck, at a residence on Stevens Point Rd., Harmony Twp. She said that on five occasions between August and December 2016, Witbeck had told her to take her clothes off and he took pictures of her.

According to police, the mother discovered Witbeck was having sex with her daughter and confronted him in February 2017. He then sent her a text message containing an intimate photo of the victim and threatened to release more pictures and videos if they went to the police.

A search warrant was executed on Witbeck’s electronic equipment and it was discovered he was using an email address. During a cross reference check with his Sexual Offender Registration, it was discovered Witbeck had not provided that specific internet identifier to state police.

Police found Witbeck possessed a digital photo containing child pornography, and an audio/video recording of a female changing in a residential bathroom.

Through the investigation, it was discovered the video contained images of a second victim, a 33-year-old female who did not consent to the recordings.

Witbeck is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in New Milford District Court on Monday, April 23.
