New Milford Borough Council discussed ongoing topics at the Thursday, July 5 meeting.

For over two years, the borough has been working on an update to its zoning ordinance.

Councilwoman Donna Cosmello reported that most of the field survey work has been completed for the sidewalk/curbing proposed project along Main St.

Project mapping with begin, she said, once all the data – including drone survey data of the area – is complete.

Council gave its permission for a National Night Out event to be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7 in Midtown Park, and provided a $200 donation to be used toward the rental of a bounce house type of equipment for the event.

The borough received a $45,000 grant for a Dirt & Gravel, Low Volume Road project on Johnston St. Members also discussed potential emergency access and alternate routes that could be used during a construction project on that road.
