An Afternoon Event with Author Mary Pat Kelly Upright Planned

On Saturday, October 13^th, the Susquehanna United Methodist Women will present “An Afternoon with Author Mary Pat (Kelly) Upright. This event starts at 2:00 P.M., and will be held at the Susquehanna United Methodist Church, Main Street, Susquehanna.

Mary Pat Kelly Upright is a former resident of Susquehanna Depot and Starrucca, Pa. and has written a heart-wrenching autobiography entitled “Tell Them For Me”—which is gigantic in Faith and Emotion. The author has poured her heart and soul into each page and, you will discover it took a tremendous amount of courage to write it. This volume explodes with a life—not unlike a handmade quilt, pieced together with snippets of love, friendship, abuse, struggle, heartache, survival and triumph.  Its randomly placed blocks may not resemble a well-known pattern, or make sense to you until you realize the “Base Material” of everything in your life is our Lord, if you will let him in. Many in our small rural corner of Northeastern Pennsylvania may recognize locations around the Susquehanna and Starrucca areas, as well as some of the people characterized within the pages. Please come and learn what the red shoes pictured on the cover represent, as well as how Author Upright saved her beloved Daughter’s life.
