Chief Clerk resigns post

Susquehanna County is looking for a new chief clerk.

Martin Kane’s resignation effective march 11 was accepted, with regret, by the commissioners at the Wednesday, Feb. 27 meeting.

Kane has been serving as the Chief Clerk since June 2017.

The commissioners also ratified and accepted, with regret, the resignation of Jesse Pruitt from the position of Deputy Sheriff, effective Feb. 22 per the recommendation of Sheriff Lance Benedict.

The county also signed an agreement with BlueJeans Network Inc., Mountain View, Calif., to provide hosted video conferencing services at a cost of $9,349.20 per the recommendation of President Judge Jason Legg.

Susquehanna County tax collectors were exonerated from collecting the 2018 county delinquent taxes in the amount of $482,921.33, per the recommendation of Treasurer Jason Miller.

The commissioners also signed the DCED Community Development Block Grant program contract in the amount of $254,298.

March was proclaimed Colon Cancer Awareness Month in Susquehanna County.

The commissioners also expressed their sympathy to the family of longtime county employee Eleanor Kurosky who died Feb. 22 and had retired several months ago.
