Commissioners approve job title changes

Six Sergeants at the Susquehanna County Correctional Facility had the designation of Shift Commander added to the positions.

The salary board eliminated the Corrections Sergeant positions that had a $13-$18 hourly base rate, and replaced those with a position of Correctional Sergeant – Shift Commander, which comes with a starting rate of $18 per hour.

Commissioner Chair Alan Hall said the job title change more accurately defines the positions. “Most all of them have the higher level experience required,” Hall said. He also said the new starting salary stays within the salary range of the prior job title.

Those taking on the new job title – as approved in the commissioners’ meeting – include: Emily Gow, Jeffrey Hindman, Gregory Rosar, Vincent Chiaramonte, Vernon Bailey and John Karakash.

The salary board also replaced a 911 Systems/IT Technician position, adding Telecommunicator to the position; with Jeffrey Oleniacz taking the change in job titles.

Two 2nd Deputy Recorder of Deeds/Register of Wills positions were also created by the salary board, a change from the previous titles of 2nd Deputy in the Register and Recorder’s Office. The transfer of LuAnn Myers and JoAnn Bentler-Alfano into those positions was approved.

Darlene Sheridan transferred from the position of 1st Deputy Register of Wills & Clerk of Orphans Court to the open position of 1st Deputy Recorder of Deeds.

Deputy Chief Clerk Rachel Carrico is transferring from the commissioners’ office to the Register/Recorder’s office, and will take the position of 1st Deputy Register of Wills/Clerk of Orphan’s Court/Admin Assistant, effective July 11.

The commissioners approved an exoneration request from the Tax Claim Bureau for a mobile home that had been razed and removed from a property in Harford Twp.

The county is advertising for bids for a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe.
