Greenfield Twp. man succumbs to crash injuries

A Greenfield Twp. man succumbed to injuries sustained in a July 15 one-vehicle crash in Clifford Twp.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Gibson, driver Jeffrey Krucar, 55, lost control of his northbound vehicle on SR 2029, Clifford Twp.

The Saturn Ion initially impacted a fence post and electric fencing. It continued on and struck a ditch. The vehicle fell into Little Creek but was briefly airborne. The car then impacted a stone-lined embankment before coming to rest upon the water.

According to police, Krucar was not cognizant after the crash, was awoken by rescuers. He sustained serious injuries and succumbed to those injuries days later at Geisinger CMC in Scranton.

Police were assisted on the scene by Clifford Vol. Fire Dept. and Ambulance and Forest City Fire and Rescue.
