SCCTC receives Pacesetter award

SCCTC Executive Director Dr. Alice Davis received the Pacesetter award from the Southern Regional Education Board.

The Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) presented the Gene Bottoms Pacesetter School Award to the Susquehanna County Career and Technology Center on July 10th at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Alice M. Davis, Executive Director accepted the award on behalf of the SCCTC.  Joining her at the conference was Dr. Kenneth Cuomo, Superintendent; Mrs. Pamela Staats, Special Education Director; Mr. John Warnero, Elk Lake High School Principal; Mr. Marc Weisgold, Elk Lake Elementary School Principal and Gary Fenton, SCCTC Instructor.

Dr. Davis was also a presenter at the SREB Conference. She provided a presentation on “Continuous Achievement Through Ongoing Collaborative Professional Development “ and “Helping Experienced Technicians become High- Quality Professional Educators”.  Additionally, Dr. Davis spoke at the Technical Centers That Work (TCTW) Advisory Council Meeting at the Conference.

This award will be displayed in the SCCTC display case in Building B along with the other SCCTC accomplishments that have been recognized both on the state and national level over the last 35 years.
