BR volleyball rolls on

Blue Ridge got back on the winning track by picking up two more wins in the final full week of the Lackawanna League volleyball season.

Hunter Heeman had 10 kills and Ashleigh Barton had 10 points to lead Blue Ridge past Elk Lake 3-0.

Barton added five kills and Breanna Post chipped in with eight kills and digs for Blue Ridge.

Amanda and Olivia Voll combined for seven digs for Elk Lake.

Blue Ridge celebrated Senior Night with a 3-1 win over Dunmore.

Seniors Alison Marshman and Makenzie Cook led the way. Marshman had 30 assists and Cook had 18 points along with five kills. Fellow Seniors Alysa Sherwood chipped in nine kills and classmate Ashley Torres finished with 13 digs and nine points.

Heeman added 16 kills.

Susquehanna swept Elk Lake 3-0 behind 16 points and nine kills from Bethany Burns.

Paeton Benson added 10 points and six kills and Megan Kiernan chipped in with five kills for Susquehanna.

Lily Decker led Elk Lake with four kills while Allana Warner had seven digs.

Earlier in the week Western Wayne shutout Susquehanna 3-0. Kiernan had five digs for Susquehanna.

Mountain View rallied from a 2-0 deficit but fell short to Abington Heights 3-2.

Tosha Shay led Mountain View with 17 assists and eight kills while Camdyn Rusek chipped in with four kills.

Mountain View fell 3-0 to Western Wayne as the Lady Wildcats wrapped up the league title.

Rachel Gerfin and Kelsey Rumola combined for eight digs in a losing effort.

Forest City won the decisive fifth set 15-10 to defeat Montrose 3-2.

Brooke Staple had 10 assists and six aces and digs to pace Forest City. Faith Ursich had 10 digs and seven aces and Kara Kelly chipped in with 15 digs.

Maisie Porter had five assists and four aces to lead Montrose and Jaelyn Smith added seven points while Tierstan Newhart chipped in with five aces for Montrose.

 Lackawanna Trail rode the momentum of a 27-25 win in set one to defeat Montrose 3-0.

Jessie Fassler led Montrose with nine assists and Macey Schillinger had eight digs. Porter added four kills for the Lady Meteors.
