Veterans are asked to come out and be honored in several local Veterans Day events happening in the area. All Veterans, Reservists, Active Duty and National Guard personnel, as well as spouses, are invited to attend.
Wednesday, Nov. 6: Veterans’ Day concert with Tri-State Gospel Singers, 7 p.m., East Bridgewater Community Church, 9575 SR 167, Montrose. Honoring community veterans. All are welcome.
Sunday, Nov. 10: Veterans Recognition Service at Montrose United Methodist Church. Gather at 10:15 a.m.; service is 10:30-11:30 a.m. A reception follows the service.
Sunday, Nov. 10: Veterans Recognition Service, 6 p.m., Bethel Community Church, 248 Welch Hill Rd Clifford. Recognition service will include patriotic concert by Tri-State Gospel Choir. Info: 570-396-8547 or email: pastorybarney3@gmail.com.
Monday, Nov. 11: Veterans highlighted at Lathrop Street Elementary assembly. Please meet at the school at 9 a.m.
Monday, Nov. 11: Montrose Area High School Veterans Day program. Each veteran is escorted to the assemble. Gather in the gymnasium at 12:30 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 11: Annual Veterans Day all-you-can-eat pasta buffet, 4-7 p.m., Montrose VFW, Rt. 706, Montrose.
US Marine Corps veterans and noted local Italian chef Ignazio Cavallaro leads the kitchen staff this year.
Dinner price is $10 for adults; and $7 for children ages 5-12 and seniors, age 55 and over. Veterans, Active Duty and Retired Military eat free.
The meal is sponsored by the Montrose BPW and proceeds will be donate to Twin Tiers Honor Flight which transports veterans to Washington, D.C. so that they may visit the memorials at no cost to the veteran.
