UGI Energy Services completes Auburn Expansion

UGI Energy Services, LLC, a subsidiary of UGI Corporation announced the completion of an expansion of its flagship Auburn system in Wyoming and Susquehanna counties.

This significant investment is the fourth expansion of the Auburn system, providing a total deliverability of 635,000 dth/day.

The project included the greenfield construction of two compressor stations and associated gathering pipelines.

“The completion of this important project is consistent with our midstream strategy of executing projects that provide producers in Pennsylvania with a valuable path to market for their gas. As the Marcellus and Utica formations continue to be prolific producers of both wet and dry gas, we expect to identify additional opportunities to grow our midstream business,” said Joseph L. Hartz, President of UGI Energy Services.

“This expansion underscores UGI Energy Services’ continued commitment to successfully completing additional midstream projects,” stated Hartz.

The Auburn Gathering System was a multi-phase, multi-year, ~$215MM pipeline project located in Susquehanna, Wyoming, and Luzerne counties. The Auburn Pipeline provides transportation service for natural gas producers linking their production to the interstate pipeline system. The Auburn Gathering System provides multiple outlets for gas, including access to both the Tennessee and Transco Interstate Pipeline System.

The Auburn system contains approximately 46 miles of pipe, two compressors stations located in Auburn and Mehoopany and various other pipeline related facilities.
