Blue Ridge’s Hunter Heeman is a presence on the volleyball court.

That presence was honored as Heeman was the lone local player to earn Lackawanna League first team all-star honors and was also awarded a spot on the Scranton Times All-Regional team.

She had 257 kills and 192 service points while leading Blue Ridge to its sixth straight District II Class A title.

“I feel I got better with my approach and swinging and the stats prove it,” noted Heeman.

While Heeman worked to improve her game during the offseason she gave much of her credit to her teammates.

“I worked out and took some private lessons,” said Heeman. “But other than that it’s truly my team.”

Heeman was joined on the second team by teammates Alison Marshman and Alyssa Sherwood and Mountain View’s Rachel Gerfin and Isabel Keating.

As Blue Ridge’s setter Marshman had 478 assists while Sherwood had 154 kills.

Gerfin was a presence on the net for Mountain View leading the Lady Eagles in kills while Keating provided solid all-around play.

Earning Honorable Mention honors were Forest City’s Kara Kelly, Montrose’s Maisie Porter, and Mountain View’s Tosha Shay.
