Elk Lake sinks West

Elk Lake swimmers dominated West Scranton as both the girls’ and boys’ teams swam to victories January 16.

Mario Mallo and Kevin Noldy led the boys to a 118-32 win over West as they each claimed an individual event and were part of two relay victories

Mallo won the 50-yard Freestyle and the 100-yard Butterfly and joined Noldy, Noah Staff, and Zach Grovesnor to claim both the 200-yard Medley and 200-yard Freestyle Relays.

Noldy claimed 200-yard Intermediate and the finished first in the 100-yard Breaststroke.

The Warriors also had individual victories from Zach Grovesnor in the 100-yard Freestyle and Quinn Grovesnor in the 100-yard Backstroke.

The team of Jackson Lincolon, Silas Lewis, Mitchell Delano, and Issiac Brewer swam unopposed in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay finishing in a time of 5:02 to claim eight points for Elk Lake.

In girls action Elk Lake swept all three relays and earned individual wins from three swimmers to defeat West Scranton 109-70.

Breanna Decker won the 100-yard Backstroke and was part of two winning relays.

Decker teamed with Reese Warriner, Erin Voda, and Megan Bosscher to claim the 200-yard Freestyle Relay. She anchored the 400-yard Freestyle Relay joining Jessie Noldy, Cadence DeGregory, and Dalia  Ofalt to claim victory for the Lady Warriors.

Warriner and Bosscher were joined by Erin Voda and Samantha Hunsinger to win the 200-yard Medley Relay.

Warriner also claimed an individual win in the 100-yard Butterfly while Bosscher was victorious in the 200-yard Intermediate.
