On the way from NJ to visit my family in Buffalo for the holidays, my husband and I were in a terrible pile-up car crash on Monday evening, Dec. 27, 2021, on Interstate-81 north, and our dog Billy ran away, across the median and I-81 south, and disappeared into the brush after the accident.

He is still missing and we would love your help in finding our sweet boy who we love so much.

We were in town every night after the accident for a week, and spending another three days searching for him last week, talking to the locals, putting up flyers, as well as food stations with trail cams.

All nearby authorities know including police, fire, veterinary, and animal shelters, even the county treasurer and local games commissioner.

The residents of New Milford, Montrose, Hallstead and Great Bend have been so kind and helpful to us in our search. We are working with a tracker from Binghamton, NY, who is helping us as well.

We have emphasized to people to not search for him as he is in survival mode and will bolt from anyone who tries to grab him, which could push him further into Game Lands or worse, into traffic.

We are now just asking for sightings from any locals in the area to help narrow down his location. We’re asking everyone to please keep an eye on their ring cameras, security cameras, hunting or trail cameras for any sign of

him. If they do spot him, please do not approach but try to take a photo of him. And call us immediately with any information even if they think it’s not that helpful. We need to figure out where he’s hiding so that we can work with our tracker to safely get him home.

My husband and I are miraculously physically okay, just sore and a bit banged up, and we are grateful that we were able to walk out of the accident alive, we’re just so desperate to get our very beloved dog home safely, especially as the weather is getting so cold.

ABOUT BILLY

Billy, male dog, neutered, microchipped, red collar with tags. Brown, 25 lbs, wirehaired terrier mix, folded short ears, slightly curled tail. He is likely very scared. Please DO NOT CHASE OR CALL HIM and avoid going out searching as that could scare him away.

He bolted into the woods near the I-81S by New Milford, PA on Monday 12/27/21 around 5 p.m. after terrible car wreck. Call 716-604-6049 with any sightings. Please, check your Ring and Security cameras, too.
