Police seek burglary suspect

A Lenox Township homeowner was remotely viewing home security cameras and observed two people breaking into his State Route 374 residence at about 4:30 p.m. on May 21.

Troopers from Pennsylvania State Police, Gibson, tactically entered the property and located David Vangorder, 43, Nicholson, and Lyndsey Traver, 31, Falls Twp. Troopers Riccardo Godino and Michael Maguire issued verbal commands for the suspects to surrender, at which time Vangorder ran from police into the woods, according to a PSP release.

Traver attempted to hide and defied commands to surrender but was eventually taken into custody.

Troopers engaged in a foot pursuit of Vangorder into a wooded area. According to the PSP release: “After an extensive, rigorous and physically demanding foot pursuit,” police were unable to locate and apprehend Vangorder.

Through the investigation, however, Vangorder was identified.

Traver was found to have numerous tools with her at the time of her arrest that were indicative with being used to commit a burglary and theft, as well as crystal methamphetamine and marijuana-related paraphernalia.

She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Jodi Cordner and remanded to the Susquehanna County Correctional Facility on $10,000 secured bail.

A criminal complaint and affidavit of probable cause for Vangorder requesting a warrant for arrest was submitted.

If anyone has information related to the whereabouts of David Vangorder, please contact PSP, Gibson at 570-465-3154.
