MESHOPPEN — “There are a lot of good people out there who are really interested in caring for their property, and those are the ones I want to find,” said Tim Morris, owner of Auburn Tree & Shrub. Growing up in the suburbs of Maryland, it wasn’t always easy to find a forest to explore. But for Morris, curiosity and the time spent in the trees sparked a lifelong passion.
Auburn Tree & Shrub offers expert tree and shrub services in seven counties in Pennsylvania’s northeast region: Wyoming, Susquehanna, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Bradford, Sullivan, and Wayne. The range of services includes tree and shrub pruning, 24/7 storm-damaged tree response, cabling and bracing, fruit tree pruning, tree and shrub removal and tree planting.
Morris isn’t just another tree cutter. Morris is a tree professional who understands the science behind proper tree care—a person who makes this a life study. In this field, continuing education and recertification are required every three years. Morris has been in the tree industry professionally since 2002 and has been self-employed since 2011, operating as Auburn Tree and Shrub, LLC.
“My love of trees started the way it does for many – in childhood,” Morris said. As a youth, Morris joined the Boy Scouts and was interested in earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He spent hours poring over field guides to identify and memorize all things tree-related, such as branches, leaf patterns and the like. With time, Morris’ childhood curiosity turned into something more. When he graduated from high school in 2002, he knew his future lay in the great outdoors.
While living in Maryland, a job opportunity knocked on Morris’s door with an opening at a local
tree care company. At the time this job opportunity was a stepping stone in Morris’ career, maybe even a defining moment—the right place to be at that time. For over four years, he
worked for Bartlett Tree Experts, a world renowned tree company founded by Francis A. Bartlett in 1907. Barlett Tree Experts gave Morris a job and the experience he needed for his next step:
to apply for the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist credential. In order to get this certification, one must have at least three years of verifiable work experience in the field. The next step is to study for the exam. Morris hit the books to study up and earned the arborist credential in 2005.
In 2006, Morris’ family moved to northeast Pennsylvania. Over the years, Morris has been working alongside the best tree care professionals in the area, learning, growing and refining the craft.
Morris understands that tree care is an ever-evolving field. Every day in the field may bring new
challenges – an unfamiliar plant, a rare pest, a new disease symptom, but professionals never
settle for “good enough.” When they don’t know the answer, they dig in and find the answer.
The commitment to learning is ongoing. When you work with professionals, you benefit from
expertise backed by years of study, field experience, and a genuine passion for preserving the
beauty and health of trees.
At Auburn Tree and Shrub, you’ll find expert tree care focused on safety, aesthetics, and the

Approach. Check out their website at auburntreeandshrub.com to learn more.
Morris is committed to staying ahead of the curve in this field. Looking to the future, maybe
someday one of their children in their large family will be interested in taking over the business.
