The Montrose Area baseball team was defeated in the District II Class AA playoffs by Mid Valley, 12-2, on Tuesday afternoon.
The Meteors fell behind early with Mid Valley scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Montrose would add a run in the second, but Mid Valley made the game 8-1 after the second.
The Meteors then added a second run in the top of the fourth before the Spartans added a pair of runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings to end the game via the 10-run rule.
Montrose was led by Justin Hartman, who doubled, while Mike Vanness had a single and drove in a run. Nick Myers added a single.
Anthony Bartock took the pitching loss, giving up three hits, four earned runs and two walks while striking out one batter in two-thirds of an inning on the mound.
Montrose ends its season with a 10-6 record.
