A Bronx, N.Y., man found with 239 packets of heroin hidden in the trunk of a car one year ago was sentenced Thursday, Sept. 19, to serve 11-1/2 months to 2 years minus one day in the county jail, followed by five years probation.
Rashaan Samuels, 37, was the passenger in a vehicle stopped Sept. 23, 2012 on I-81, New Milford Twp. During a search of the vehicle, police found the heroin in a bag in the trunk. Samuels claimed ownership of the bag.
He pleaded guilty in front on President Judge Kenneth Seamans in August to one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Others sentenced Thursday in the Susquehanna County Court of Common Pleas included:
Tina M Braungard, 35, of Great Bend, to 5 days to 6 months for Driving Under the Influence in Great Bend Twp. on Oct. 22, 2012.
Shannon Marie Mangin, 23, of Clarks Summit, to 15 months probation for Recklessly Endangering Another Person in Thompson Borough on July 25, 2012.
Jennifer Lynn Spadine, 45, of South Montrose, to 15 months probation for Theft by Unlawful in Dimock Twp. on Nov. 9, 2012.
Matthew John Moxen, 23, of New Milford, to 1 to 15 months for Theft by Unlawful Taking on Nov. 11, 2012 in Great Bend Twp..
Gary Edward Snow, 46, of Montrose, to 12 months probation for Simple Assault in Montrose on Nov. 11, 2012.
Seth Aaron Haynes, 37, of Newark, Ohio, to 5 days to 6 months for Driving Under the Influence in New Milford Twp. on April 18.
Salvatore P Gentile, Jr, 46, of Montrose, to 12 months probation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in Montrose Borough on Oct. 11, 2012.
Peter Paul Provinzano, Jr, 54, of Factoryville, to 3 to 15 months for Manufacture, Delivery or Possession with Intent to Manufacture or Deliver in Hop Bottom Borough on Jan. 9, 2012.
Gregory Matthew Isby, 41, of Great Bend, to 10 days to 23-1/2 months for Driving Under the Influence in Great Bend Borough on Feb. 9. Isby also received 3 months to 2 years minus 1 day for Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police in Great Bend Borough on Feb. 9.
