Clark’s Key Lime sets pie auction record

The annual Ag Day Pie Auction raised $4,050 for Susquehanna County 4-H and the Dairy Promotions programs with one pie bringing in a record-setting auction bid price.

Vicki Clark’s Key Lime Pie fetched $300 – a bid placed by her father, Charlie Clark. Vicki Clark, age 13, of Springville, is a member of the DES and Clover Pups 4-H clubs.

Thirty-four pies were entered into the pie contest. Adult division winners were: Sally Button, Montrose (apple pie); Stephanie Allen, New Milford (Turtle); Matt Fearnley, Montrose (Peanut Butter). Youth division winners were: Alexis Parks, Susquehanna (Cow Pie); Gavin Bewley, Susquehanna (Lemon); and Alex Bonavita, Meshoppen (Peanut Butter).

Along with Susquehanna County Dairy Princess Mercedes Spickerman, and Dairy Ambassadors, other royalty present at Ag Day included: 2013 Harford Fair Queen Taylor Watkins; 2013-14 State Dairy Princess Lu-Anne Antisdel; 2014 Miss Teen Rodeo New York Leah Ofalt.
