One of the highlights of the Susquehanna County Republican Lincoln Day event is the awarding of the annual Jack Masters Award.

The 2014 award was presented to Alton Arnold of Jessup Twp. by County Chairman Mike Redding and Vice-Chairman Carolyn Paccio.

Arnold was recognized for exhibiting the beliefs in the Republican Party and also giving of himself to other organizations in the county. He is a long time member and supporter of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and his local fire company as well as other local organizations that have benefited from his years of experience.

Carol Masters initiated the award to honor a fellow Republican who was of a like mind as her husband, Jack, following his death 15 years ago.

A Susquehanna County native, Jack supported not only the party but also the Harford Fair and just about any event taking place in his beloved Susquehanna County where he served as County Commissioner.
