The indecent assault charged lodged against an ordained United Methodist minister was withdrawn Monday in New Milford District Court, Susquehanna County District Attorney Jason Legg said.
Kenneth Bitler, 60, Meshoppen, now faces a single misdemeanor count of corruption of a minor stemming from an alleged April 2 incident in Harmony Twp.
He waived his April 5 preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Jodi Cordner.
Bitler is accused of inappropriately touching a nine-year-old girl at an old church he owns on Brandt Rd.
The church is used only for storage and does not have an active congregation, according to police.
Bitler remains free on unsecured bail.
