Elk Lake boys collect win; Brewer sets school record

Montrose runner Owen Brewer finished second Wednesday, Sept. 3, setting the school record on the new 2.97-mile course. Western Wayne’s Adam Vaccaro established the course top mark at 17:13.

Dan Bell, Hunter Bedell and Cody Oswald finished in three of the next four places as Elk Lake earned three wins. The Warriors claimed victories over Honesdale, Western Wayne and Forest City.

Montrose picked up wins over Western Wayne and Forest City, but fell to Honesdale.

The Foresters split the day with a win over Blue Ridge and a loss to Montrose.

In addition to the loss to Forest City, the Raiders fell to Honesdale and Western Wayne.

Elk Lake’s Brett Carney was the top finisher and set the course record in the Junior High race posting a time of 9:39 on the 1.62-mile course.

At Lackawanna Trail on Wednesday, the Mountain View and Susquehanna teams each sustained three losses from Scranton, West Scranton and Mid Valley.

Joe Nally was the top finisher for the Eagles in sixth place.
