
Montrose’s Owen Brewer took second in the cross country meet held last week at Nay Aug Park in Scranton. Brewer crossed the finish line one second behind Scranton’s Andrew Lopez.
Elk Lake remained undefeated by sweeping all three meets Tuesday, Sept. 9 in the cluster at Nay Aug Park.
The Warriors took wins over Scranton, West Scranton and Mid Valley on the 3.05-mile course at Nay Aug Park, placing them at the top of the league with a 6-0 record.
Montrose’s Owen Brewer was edged out of first place, finishing one second behind Scranton runner Andrew Lopez, who set a school record at 17:00.
Elk Lake runners clinched the win with six runners claiming spots in the top 10. Dan Bell led the Warriors, finishing in fourth with a time of 17:39; he was followed across the line by teammates Hunter Bedell, Cody Oswold and Dalton Sherman, who placed fifth through seventh. Rounding out the top 10 were Caleb Owens (9th) and Seth Owens (10th).

Six Elk Lake runners claimed spots in the top 10 and claimed three more wins making them 6-0 on the season.
Forest City picked up wins over Susquehanna, Mountain View and Lackawanna Trail on Tuesday, Sept. 9 on the 3.1 mile course at Merli-Sarnoski Park.
Tyler DeBrino led Forest City finishing in 18:15.
