Lady Raiders comeback for win

Blue Ridge rallied from a 2-0 deficit to earn a Lackawanna League 3-2 win over Lackawanna Trail on Monday.

Megan Houlihan had 20 kills and 17 digs and Kristine Carlsen had five kills, 38 digs and 21 points.

Kimberly Klim had five kills and eight digs for the Lady Raiders.

In last week’s action, Megan Houlihan had 13 kills and Katherine Kempa had 20 assists and 16 points to lead Blue Ridge to a 3-0 win over Mountain View in a Tuesday, Sept. 30, match.

Kristine Carlson had five aces and 15 points for the Lady Raiders and Hayleigh Fekette had five kills.
Sabrina Fallon led Mountain View with five digs.

Facing the Lady Foresters, Megan Houlihan had 12 kills and nine points and Chloe Randall had five digs and 11 points to lead the Lady Raiders to a 3-0 win over Forest City.

Katherine Kempa had 22 assists and six points for the winners and Kristine Carlson had nine digs and 16 points.

Zoe Zazzera had 15 digs for Forest City and Caitlyn Bonham had 13 assists.

In other local games:
Elk Lake fell, 3-0, to Abington Heights; and Montrose was defeated by Lackawanna Trail, 3-0..

Montrose’s Lacy Nealy made five kills and Megan Dunne added six digs.

Abington Heights took a 3-0 win over Susquehanna in a Lackawanna League match.

Ana Smith led Susquehanna with nine kills, eight aces and 12 digs.

At Mountain View, Mikayla Parrett had 10 kills and 10 points and Lauren Vermeulen had 12 points to lead Elk Lake to a 3-1 win.

Dempsey Hollenbeck had five kills for Mountain View, Leanna Allen had six assists and Lauren Schmidt had eight digs and 11 points.

Montrose’s Megan Dunne had 10 kills and Emily Stankewicz had six aces and five kills as Montrose swept Mountain View, 25-18, 25-19, 25-21, in Lackawanna League girls volleyball Friday.

Sabrina Fallon paced Mountain View with nine kills and seven digs. Leanna Allen had 11 assists and five service points, and Lauren Schmidt had five kills.

At Forest City, Caitlyn Bonham had five aces, five kills and 35 assists and Solana Stratford had six aces, five kills and 34 assists to lead the Lady Foresters to a 3-1 vicotry over the Warriors.

Courtney Daniels had five kills for the winners, Kendra Bendyk had five kills and 26 digs and Zoe Zazzera had 26 digs.

At Mountain View, Taryn Tross and Ana Smith each had six kills and Brianna Burlingame had seven aces to lead Susquehanna, 3-0, over the Lady Eagles.

Jessica Fanelli had 12 points for Mountain View and Courtney Bognatz had six digs and seven points.
