The county commissioners approved the purchase of three vehicles for Susquehanna County Children & Youth Services at the Oct. 8 meeting.
Cost of each of the vehicles – all 2015 Chevrolet Equinox – range from $22,953 to $24,247. Half of the purchase price is covered by federal funds and the state will pick up 40 percent of the costs, leaving the county responsible for under $2,500 per vehicle.
County Commissioner Alan Hall said the allocation amounts were determined by the funding stream in place this year for Children & Youth.
The commissioners also approved the purchase of a 2015 Ford Sedan Police Interceptor at a cost of about $33,617 with funding coming from drug and alcohol program revenues.
The vehicle will be used by the county detectives.
The resignation of Samuel Longacre from a position at the county correctional facility was accepted, effective Sept. 26.
The Susquehanna County Commissioners meet every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ meeting room in the courthouse. The next meeting will be held Oct. 23.
