Procter & Gamble released the results of its 2015 in-house United Way campaign, and it’s more than enough to make a grown Santa cry.
For the second year in a row, the employees of the P&G-Mehoopany plant and corporate office have raised more than a half million dollars with six area nonprofits the chief beneficiaries.
“The credit for these fantastic results goes to our employees and retirees,” P&G spokesman Alex Fried said. “In six years we have not found the limits to their generosity for their area United Way’s. It’s a tribute to how much they care for their communities.”
The company and its employees donated more than $523,000, up a little over $23,000 from what was raised during the 2014 campaign.
The different United Way agencies and their gifts follow: Wyoming County ($211,375), Susquehanna County ($69,531), Lackawanna County ($62,616), Bradford County ($53,595), Wyoming Valley ($100,276) and Sullivan County ($16,509).
