BR girls top Trail

Isabella Cosmello scored 21 points as Blue Ridge earned its first win with a 60-44 victory over Lackawanna Trail in a Lackawanna League Division IV girls basketball game Saturday.

Megan Houlihan had 19 points and Abby Hartman added 12 for the Lady Raiders, who snapped a 17-game losing streak.

The Lady Warriors collected two wins on the court last week from Susquehanna and Lackawanna Trail.
On Tuesday, the Elk Lake – Susquehanna match up had to be decided in overtime, with Elk Lake coming out on top, 70-67, in the Division IV game.

Keri Jones scored 19 points and Darci Warner had 17 to lead Elk Lake at the game on the Lady Sabers’ court.

Whitney Tyler added 12 points for the Lady Warriors and Justine Johns had 10.

Mikaela Hargett led Susquehanna with 20 points, Nicole Barnes and D.J. Decker each had 15 and Gabby Cina scored 10.

Facing off against Trail on Thursday, the Lady Warriors claimed a 39-25 win on the road.

Whitney Tyler scored 13 points and Keri Jones had 12 to lead Elk Lake; and Justine Johns added 10 points for the Lady Warriors.

On Tuesday (Jan. 13) at Dunmore, the Montrose girls fell 57-28 to the fourth-ranked Dunmore in a Division III-IV crossover game.

Morgan Groover led Montrose with 16 points and Meghan Gilhool had 10.

The Lady Meteors rebounded on Thursday, with a home court 55-28 win over Susquehanna.

Meghan Gilhool scored 31 points to lead the Lady Meteors.

D.J. Decker had nine points for Susquehanna.

Coming off the Wednesday make-up game loss to Forest City where Lady Eagle Makenna Whitaker hit the 1,000-point mark, Mountain View secured a 53-32 victory over Blue Ridge.

Whitaker scored 27 points to lead Mountain View; and Tori Wilder added 14 points for the Lady Eagles.
Isabella Cosmello had 11 points for Blue Ridge.

Forest City sustained a 61-40 loss to Riverside in a Division III-IV crossover game.

McKenzie Hartman scored a game-high 18 points to pace the Lady Foresters.
