Rodgers, Austin score pins for BR

Blue Ridge scored two pins in a Wednesday home wrestling meet with Mountain View, but four Raider forfeits and two decisions gave the Eagles a 30-18 victory.

Raider Ryan Rodgers (285) pinned Mountain View’s Jonathan McDonald in 21 seconds; and David Austin (126) scored a pin in his match with Christian Hollister at the 3:13 mark.

Blue Ridge’s Dalton Hogle (162) won a decision over Jake Napierkowski, 1-0; and Addison Parsons took the 3-0 decision win over Schae Thomas.

At 138, Mountain View’s Warren Moran won a 2-1 decision over Raider Garrett Crocker; and Jarrett Bartlett earned an 8-6 decision in his bout at 160 with Dillon Monks.

Blue Ridge also took a 58-12 loss to the Division II undefeated Valley View.

Addison Parsons (182) scored a fall for the Raiders, pinning Zach Duffield at the 1:48 mark; and Blue Ridge’s Dalton Hogle (152) took a 15-1 major decision over Howie Babcock.

Mountain View fell to Valley View, 60-6. John Dougherty (195) had the lone pin for Mountain View. Dougherty pinned over Nick Barber at the 54 second mark.

Also on Wednesday, Western Wayne swept two matches, beating Elk Lake, 72-6, and Montrose, 63-9, to improve to an undefeated 6-0 in Division II wrestling.

Blaise Cleveland (182) pinned Joe Tomasetti in 43 seconds for Elk Lake.

For Montrose, Jacob O’Brien (113) pinned Wildcat George Mrsich at the 1:46 mark; and at 145 Meteor Pat Parks won an 8-6 decision over Harrison Clookey.
