Newly elected Montrose School Board members sworn in

During a reorganization meeting held at Montrose High School on Tuesday, Dec. 1, several newly elected school board members Amy Lyden, Jennifer Strickland and Paul Adams were sworn in as the newest members of the board.

In a 5-4 vote, Gloria Smith was elected board president, and Doug Wilcox was elected Vice president. They will hold office for the ensuing year until the reorganization meeting in Dec. 2016.

Meetings were then scheduled for the upcoming year.

Work sessions will be held on the second Monday of each month with the exception of Dec. which will be during the first week of the month. These meeting will begin at 7 p.m. to be followed immediately by the regular business meeting.

For the months of January, February, March, July, August and September the meetings will be held in the L.G.I. room at Choconut Valley Elementary School.
For the months of April, May, June, October, November and December the meetings will be held in the Community Learning Center at the Junior-Senior High School.
