Mountain View school director Michael Barhite was elected unanimously at the Monday, Dec. 7, reorganizational meeting by the board to serve as president for the upcoming year.
Jason Richmond was elected first vice president; and Jason Casselbury will serve as the board’s second vice president.
Newly elected and re-elected board members were sworn into office. Returning board members winning their elections were Sondra Stine and Christine Plonski-Sezer. Taking their seats for the first time Monday were Kenneth Decker, David Schulte and Monica Miller.
Casey Webster, who won the election for the Harford-Lenox seat in November, was not present at the meeting.
Superintendent Karen Voigt explained that Webster was unable to attend the meeting and would be sworn in Wednesday in the district’s administration office.
Miller will take over as board treasurer until June 30, the date when the position expires. She replaces Ellen Aherne, who did not seek re-election to the board.
Board meeting for the coming year were set for the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7 p.m. Meetings in December will be held on Dec. 5 and Dec. 19.
Meetings are held in the James W. Zick Board Rom, located in the administration wing of the elementary school.
The next Mountain View School Board meeting is scheduled to be held Monday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m.
