The Montrose school board held a special meeting Tuesday, Jan. 3 to negotiate a contract with the district’s support professionals association.
The new contract was for the term ofJuly 1, 2012, untilJune 30, 2015. A clear session was held for negotiations, followed by a motion to approve the new contract.
The key components are as follows:
*3-year contract beginning onJuly 1, 2012and extending throughJune 30, 2015.
*Support staff employees will receive a 40 cents/hour raise for each year of the three years – total of $1.20/hour total for the three years.
*Support staff employees will pay $42.50 per bi-weekly pay period for their health insurance.
*Support staff employees will no longer have the option of selecting Traditional Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance – will only be offered Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO.
Also, board member Douglas Wilcox, who was re-elected and appointed school board vice president at the December meeting, was sworn in, as he was unable to attend the previous meeting.
Wilcox is a resident of Region 2 of theMontroseAreaSchool District.
