The Montrose Area boys’ basketball team picked up a 64-56 victory at home overBlue Ridgeon Friday and grabbed 53-48 victory overElkLakein Dimock on Tuesday night.
Facing Blue Ridge, the Meteors got off to a 19-13 lead after the first quarter, and went into halftime with a 37-28 advantage over the Raiders.
After the break, the Raiders cut the Meteor lead to 43-39 with an 11-6 run over Montrose, however, the Meteors outscored the Raiders 21-17 in the fourth to take the win.
Cameron Dean led Montrose with 22 points while Corey Adams scored 18 and Colby Major had 17.
Blue Ridge’s Sawyer Dearborn scored 18 while Chris Carlsen had 12 and Jesse Pruitt scored 10.
On Tuesday, the Meteors fell behind early asElkLaketook a 15-12 lead after the first quarter, but Montrose answered back in the second quarter with a 17-12 run to take a 29-27 lead at halftime.
Montrose then paced the Warriors 12-6 in the third quarter

and held on despite a 15-12 Warrior run in the fourth.
Tom Lewis scored 14 points to lead Montrose while Major and Dean each dropped in 11 points.
Nick Dudock scored a game-high 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds while Rob Heft scored 13 points and Tyler Arnold chipped in with nine.
Elk Lake
ElkLake’s boys’ basketball team took home a 40-28 victory overForestCityon Friday night in Lackawanna League action.
The Warriors got out to an early 12-4 lead overForestCityafter the first and carried an 18-15 lead going into halftime.
In the third, Forest City cut the Warriors’ lead to one point as they paced Elk Lake 10-8, however, the Warriors used a 14-3 fourth quarter to seal the win.
Tanner Reyan scored 14 points to leadElkLakewhile Rob Heft dropped in eight and Nick Dudock and Matt Cuomo each scored seven.
David Cavalieri ledForestCitywith nine points while Noah Fedak dropped in seven and Dylan Walsh with six points.
Blue Ridge
Blue Ridge’s boys’ basketball team grabbed a 72-33 win atNortheast Bradfordon Saturday in a non-league game, and picked up a 65-46 win over Susquehanna in the team’s first home game of the season inNew Milfordon Tuesday night.
On Saturday, Alex Cardoza scored 15 of his game-high 19 points in the second quarter asBlue Ridgerolled.
Chris Carlsen added 15 points for the Raiders while Jesse Pruitt had 11 points and eight rebounds.
Against Susquehanna, Sawyer Dearborn led the way forBlue Ridgewith a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds.
The Raiders were outscored 10-9 by Susquehanna in the first but sealed the win with a pair of big quarters in the second with a 20-11 run and in the third with a 22-11 run.
Cardoza added 14 points and eight assists for the winners while Carlsen dropped in eight and Pruitt had seven.
Andrzej Tomczyk led Susquehanna with 25 points while Austin Cowperthwait had six.
Forest City
ForestCity’s boys’ basketball team was took a 65-29 loss fromLakelandon the road on Tuesday night in a Lackawanna League Division III contest.
Lakelandpaced the Foresters in the first 18-11, and again in the second 21-1 to hold a 39-12 advantage at halftime.
The Chiefs then went on to seal the win with an 18-8 run in the third.
Noah Fedak ledForestCitywith nine points while Dylan Walsh chipped in six and C. Barrese had four.
Mountain View
Mountain View’s boys’ basketball team grabbed a 44-41 win at Susquehanna on Friday after the team faced a 62-41 loss at home on Wednesday night against Lackawanna Trail.
On Friday, Derek Bradley made a layup with less than a minute remaining to putMountain Viewahead for good. He finished with eight points while Joel Madas scored a team-high 12 points forMountain View.
Andrzej Tomczyk led the Sabers with 14 points while Austin Cowperthwait and Brandon Soden each had nine points.
Against the Lions, Trail got off to an early lead over the Eagles with a 19-15 first quarter and never looked back.
The Lions pacedMountain View13-11 in the second, then 22-9 in the third and capped the victory with an 8-6 run in the fourth quarter.
Joel Madas and Jon Chipelo each scored eight points to leadMountain Viewwhile Nick Chipelo and David Lukens each had six. Mike Wakalowski dropped in five.
