Meteor tennis takes pair of losses

The Montrose Area boys’ tennis team was handed a 3-2 loss from Dunmore on the road on Thursday and a 3-2 loss from Holy Cross on Tuesday in a Lackawanna crossover match.

Against Dunmore, Brian Shultz won the No. 2 singles match to lead Montrose, while Isaac Mitchell-Sean Regan won No. 1 doubles.

Singles: Max Riccio (D) over Mike Roman, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4; Brian Shultz (M) over Griffin Gerchman 5-7, 6-3, 6-3; Dennis Mundt (D) over Chris Jordan 6-4, 6-4.

Doubles: Isaac Mitchell-Sean Regan over Josh Beltran-Correy Kenney 6-3, 6-4; Todd Davenport-Tom Occhpinti (D) over Hunter Williams-Zach Myers, 6-2, 6-3.

On Tuesday, Chris Jordan won the No. 3 singles for the Meteors while Isaac Mitchell-Sean Regan won No. 2 doubles.

Singles: Robby Azzarelli (HC) over Mike Roman, 6-0, 6-3; TJ Thomas (HC) over Bryan Shultz, 7-5, 6-1; Chris Jordan (M) over Jonathan Kelley, 6-3, 6-2.

Doubles: Isaac Mitchell-Sean Regan (M) over Casey Gaughan-Jeff Jurosky, 6-3, 7-6 (6); Christ Gasper-Mike Bauman (HC) over Hunter Williams-Zach Myer, 6-2, 7-5.
