Mt. View board president dies

BY ROBERT L. BAKER

James Zick, president of the Mountain View School Board for the past six years, died late Thursday afternoon

The dairy farmer was doing barn work when he apparently collapsed.

Superintendent Andrew Chichura said, “the school community is deeply saddened by his passing.”

Chichura said Zick joined the board in 1984 and had served for 28 years with dedication.

“He was always looking out for the best interests of students and the community,” Chichura said.

Because of Zick’s death, the regularly scheduled board meeting for Monday was postponed until next Monday, May 21, at7 p.m.
